Celcom MEGA is the very basis of this postpaid plan. When you sign up with Celcom MEGA, your monthly commitment and plan detail is as follows:

This is Celcom MEGA plan alone which means it is without any pass. For Unlimited and Lightning pass, see the following detail.

Size up for Unlimited internet

If you sign up Celcom MEGA with the size up for Unlimited internet. Here’s what you’ll get:

As you can see in the above picture. The Unlimited pass has two options, Unlimited L and Unlimited M. The monthly commitment is the additional cost:

  • Celcom MEGA + Unlimited L pass = RM80 + RM68 = RM148 with unlimited data + 10GB monthly hotspot (15Mbps)
  • Celcom MEGA + Unlimited M pass = RM80 + RM18 = RM98 with unlimited data + 5GB monthly hotspot (5Mbps)

Take note on the speed for each Unlimited pass — 15Mbps and 5Mbps. This is the speed cap for each option.

Size up for more Lightning speed

Here’s what you’ll get when you sign up Celcom MEGA with Lightning speed pass:

The Lightning pass has three options , Lightning XL, L and M pass. The monthly commitment is the additional cost:

  • Celcom MEGA + Lightning XL pass = RM80 + RM108 = RM188 with 30GB + 70GB internet (high speed)
  • Celcom MEGA + Lightning L pass = RM80 + RM68 = RM148 with 30GB + 30GB internet (high speed)
  • Celcom MEGA + Lightning M pass = RM80 +RM18 = RM98 with 30GB + 10GB internet (high speed)

The speed is as fast as you can get in your area.

Final verdict

When looking at MEGA Unlimited plan, I’m thinking of U Mobile GX50 plan, where the data is unlimited but the speed is capped at 5Mbps. This plan is suitable for any user with lots of data download or upload.

Alternatively, you can check out Unifi Mobile or Digi 150 Infinite. Both are also an awesome postpaid plan you can get right now.

On the other hand, MEGA Lightning plan is suitable for user who is looking at the very high-speed internet. However, I’m not convinced with this plan as the speed will vary from area to area.

Personally, I’m not interested in any of the plan offered in this MEGA plan. The only advantage that Celcom has over any other telco is only their network coverage. Other than that, I don’t see any good postpaid plan compare to Digi, U Mobile and Unifi.
