U Mobile Unlimited Hero P79 postpaid plan
U Mobile Unlimited Hero P79 postpaid plan / U Mobile

U Mobile is known as one of the telcos that provide the cheapest postpaid and prepaid plans. P79 is a new postpaid plan introduced by U Mobile not long ago and based on the monthly fee, it is clear that this plan is to compete with Unifi Mobile 99. U Mobile P79 is an upgrade of P78, let’s see what U Mobile offers in this P79 postpaid plan.

U Mobile provides 1GB of internet data for roaming in the following 12 countries. If you like to travel, this is one of the advantages you’ll get from this plan.

SMS rate

I don’t see much cons in this package plan. The only thing that U Mobile still lacks is the SMS rate. I’ve been highlighting this in almost every review regarding U Mobile plan. Not sure why they still insist to charge 10 sen for every SMS.

However, it is negligible because nowadays people are very seldom or no longer using SMS, everybody is using WhatsApp or Telegram for messages. So this will be no issue for most of us.

Final verdict

To summarise, U Mobile P79 is almost similar to Unifi Mobile 99. The differences are the quota for mobile hotspots and the SMS rate. P79 offers 20GB compared to 10GB by Unifi Mobile and Unifi Mobile offers free SMS to all networks.

If you want to choose between these two, it will come down to the network coverage. So, in my case, Unifi Mobile has better coverage than U Mobile. And also, now I’m paying RM59 monthly for Unifi Mobile 99. So, of course, I’m sticking to Unifi.

The choice is in your hand. If you have anything to say, leave them in the comment below.
