Learn how to setup TM Streamyx for TP-Link router. In order for this tutorial to work, the most important thing is that you need to have a TP-Link router model that supports Streamyx.
Basically, any modem with ADSL2+ type is suitable for Streamyx.
The following is how to install TP-Link router and how to set up TM Streamyx for TP-Link router. In this post, you’ll be using the easiest and fastest method which is Quick Setup.

Install TP-Link router
- Connect TP-Link modem router with ADSL splitter through ADSL port found at the back of the modem router.
- Plug in the power adaptor and switch On the modem router by pressing the On/Off power button.
- Connect your laptop to the Wifi network using the default Wifi network name and password or connect through LAN1 port using cable.
Setup TP-Link router for Streamyx
- Open any internet browser.
- Go to http://192.168.1.1.
- Enter your login detail:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
- Click Login.
- Select Quick Setup.
- On Quick Setup – Start page, select Next to continue.
- On Quick Setup – Operation mode page, select ADSL Modem Router Mode.
- Select Next.
- On Quick Setup – WAN Configurations page:
- in Country box, select Malaysia (it will automatically select Streamyx under ISP option)
- in PPP Username box, enter your Streamyx ID name (ex: xxx@streamyx) — call 100 if you are not sure about your Streamyx ID and password
- in PPP Password box, enter your Streamyx password
- select Next to continue.
- On Quick Setup – Wireless Configuration page, tick Enable Wireless to use Wifi or you can select Skip Wi-Fi to continue using the default Wifi name and password.
- in Wireless Network Name box, key in your preferred Wifi name
- in Network Authentication box, select WPA2-Personal
- in Wireless Network Key box, key in your preferred Wifi password
- select Next to continue.
- On Quick Setup – Summary page, confirm your information and select Confirm to finish the setup.
Note: The TP-Link router will take few seconds to reboot for the new changes to take effect.
Done. Most of the ADSL modem will have similar interface. So, this method will be applicable for any brand.
