How to set up Streamyx MAC Filter

·

This is a complete MAC Filter setup guide for Streamyx user. You’ll need to configure the router MAC Restrict mode and then you can filter any MAC address by allowing or denying their access to your Wifi network.

Generally, MAC (Media Access Control) address consist of 6 groups of hexadecimal digits separated either by colons (:) or hyphens (-). It is a unique identifier assigned to every device by the manufacturer for identification.

In other words, each device will have a different MAC address.

With this unique identification, you can configure your TM Streamyx router and decide which MAC address to have the permission to establish the connection to the network and which are don’t.

Note: I’m using the default modem provided by TM which is Innacomm W3400V6 modem.

Hi Erin Azreen, I’m sorry for not able to provide a complete step-by-step guide for ADSL Riger modem as I don’t own one. However, I’ll try to help you as much as I can. Give me some time to study and find out about this modem.

I wanna ask if it’s possible to block the so called wifi free, Riger1 users. Since even if I only allow certains mac no, Riger1 is still available. And how to detect the illegal users?

I don’t own Riger modem, so, I’m not so sure how to turn it off. But I remember read it somewhere that users complaining not having option to disable it. However, I believe there will be an option to stop broadcasting the wifi. I will try to figure it out.

I posted in a group and someone suggested me to change the modem. Is it really going to solve the issue? I sent a question to tm through fb but they said it’s out of their boundaries.

Yes, it is modem related. By default, this modem will silently broadcast Riger1,2 or 3. You can try to ask TM to change the modem.
