Learn how to set up MYTV decoder Basic and Advance to access and enjoy myFreeview Digital Broadcast channels and services. You will need MYTV decoder (Type DVB-T2) Basic or Advance, a UHF aerial (indoor or outdoor) and an HDMI or AV cable.

Basically, there are two options to receive the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) on your television:

  • Option 1: Use an old TV set as long as it has an HDMI/AV input that can be connected to the MYTV decoder with Type DVB-T2 receiver or
  • Option 2: Use a new TV set (with the DTTV label approved by SIRIM) with integrated Digital Television (iDTV) that comes with digital TV tuner

Update: I’ve posted tutorial for Option 2 here.

In this tutorial, I will focus on Option 1 to access myFreeview and watch all the available channels. As of writing this article, myFreeview offers access to TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9, TV AlHijrah, TVi, and Bernama News Channel.
