This is another alternative method to screen record your Windows 10 or higher. In this method, you’ll be using the built-in function in Windows 10 or higher which is Xbox Game Bar. Here’s how to record screen using Xbox Game Bar.
The Xbox Game Bar is meant to record your gaming sessions, however, you can use this function to record your screen for other activities as well. But, please take note that Xbox Game Bar will not record the screen when File Explorer is open or you are on the Desktop.
Note: Xbox Game Bar can be used in Windows 10 or higher. The following method is applicable for Windows 10 or higher as well.

How to record screen using Xbox Game Bar in Windows 10
Here’s the step-by-step instruction to record screen using Xbox game Bar in Windows 10 or higher.
- Using keyboard shortcut keys, press Windows + G to open Xbox Game Bar overlay.
- Click Capture option from the overlay menu available at the top of the screen.
- If you can’t find the Capture button, click the Widget menu and click the star next to Capture.
- A small Capture floating pop-up window will appear.
- To start recording, click Start Recording to start record your screen.
- Make sure to turn on the microphone to record your voice togehter with the desktop audio.
- To stop recording, click Stop button in the Capture Status floating window.
- The recorded screen will be automatically saved into user Videos file:
C:\Users\yourusername\Videos\Captures
- Done. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
