Astro TV guide: TV decoder settings

Learn a basic guide to set up your Astro TV decoder. You can learn how to block any Astro channel, add your favorite channels, set a reminder, view reminder,s and change PIN number, to name a few.

Astro TV guide is available in four languages; English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil. You can set up your preferred language by pressing Home > Preferences > Language and select menu language.

How to block any channel

On your remote control, press the Home button.
Select Preferences.
Select Parental Control.
Enter the 4-digit PIN. Please note that the default PIN is 0000.
Select Channel Block.
Choose the channel to block and press the OK button on your remote control to proceed.
To save changes, press the Back/OK button on your remote control.
Select Yes, continue to apply changes.

Done! The blocked channel will now require a PIN to access.

How to add favorite channel

Method 1:

On your remote control, press the Home button.
Select TV Guide (TV Guide can also be accessed by pressing the Guide button on your remote control).
Select All.
Highlight your favorite channel and press the Fav button on your remote control to add to Favourites. A ♥ symbol will appear next to the channel name.
To remove a channel from Favourites, highlight the channel and press the Fav button on your remote control. The ♥ symbol next to the channel name will disappear.

Method 2:

On your remote control, press the Home button.
Select Preferences.
Select Edit Favourites.
Use the arrow buttons on your remote control to browse through the available channels.
Press the OK button on your remote control to select the channel number to be added to Favourites.
To save changes, press the Back button on your remote control and select Yes, continue to apply changes.

How to set a reminder

On your remote control, press the Home button.
Select TV Guide (TV Guide can also be accessed by pressing the Guide button on your remote control).
Scroll to the preferred future program by using the arrow buttons on your remote control.
Press the OK button on your remote control to select the program.
Select Set Reminder.
An icon will appear next to the title of the chosen program indicating that a reminder has been set.

How to change PIN

On your remote control, press the Home button.
Select Preferences.
Select Parental Control.
Enter the 4-digit PIN. Please note that the default PIN is 0000.
Select Change PIN.
Key in your current PIN, your new PIN and re-enter your new PIN to confirm.
Press the Back/OK button on your remote control.
Select Yes, continue to apply changes (There is no limit set for keying in the PIN. To undo, press the left arrow button on your remote control).
