There are lots of reasons to hide your Wifi network name from your others. One of them is to prevent unknown devices from connecting to it. I’ve covered many tutorials to hide Wifi networks for lots of routers. In this article, I’ll guide you on how to hide Wifi network name on Zyxel router.
Most of you must be familiar with this Zyxel router because this is the default router provided by TM for those customers who subscribe to their Unifi 100Mbps package and above.
There are lots of benefits to hide your Wifi network name. One of them is that there will be less likely for your Wifi to be connected by an unknown device. This will reduce the risk of your Wifi being hijacked by your neighbors or strangers. If you find there’s always an unknown device connected to your Wifi, this tutorial is definitely for you.

How to hide Unifi Wifi network name on Zyxel router
Connect your device to the Wifi network and continue with the following steps:
- Open any internet browser.
- Go to http://192.168.0.1/.
- Enter your username and password and hit Enter. The default is as follows:
- Username: tmadmin
- Password: Adm@XXXX (XXXX is the last 4 digits of the router MAC address)
- Look for Wifi Settings box, and click the arrow at the bottom right corner of the box.
- If you checked the option to keep 2.4G and 5G the same, you’ll only have one Wifi name and password.
- If you unchecked the option to keep 2.4G and 5G the same, you’ll have the option to change Wifi name and password for both channels.
- In each box, checked the box next to Hide Wifi network name.
- Click Save.
Once done, you will not find the Wifi network name in the list of available Wifi networks. Don’t panic if you can’t find your Wifi network when you run Wifi network auto-scan.
