By default, Microsoft has set the Default apps for each file. If you have recently installed a new app and wanted it to be the default app when you open the file, you need to change the default app to this new app. Here’s how to change the default apps in Windows 10.
For example, if you click on a link, by default Windows 10 will automatically launch Edge to open the website. In this case, Edge is not your preferred app. You can change the default app for web browser from Edge to Google Chrome.

You can change to any app you preferred. Sometimes, the default apps recommended by Microsoft has some limitations. I think, the most noticeable are Video player and Web browser. I change them every time I got my new laptop.
