Recently, I bought a new TV box from Xiaomi, called Xiaomi Mi Box S 2nd Gen also known as Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd Gen. After just a few days of using it, while watching YouTube, suddenly there was no sound coming out from the TV speaker.

I tried many things but ended up not solving the issue. I looked up to the distributor which I bought the TV box from, and their answer was simple, I just need to reset the TV box to its factory settings. According to them also that this is a normal issue with Xiaomi TV Box S.

I’ve done this a few times and everytime I reset it to it’s factory settings, I need to re-configure all the settings.

Fortunately I found an easier way to fix this problem.

How to fix Xiaomi TV Box suddenly no sound

Here’s what you need to do fix no volume issue on Xiaomi TV Box:

1. Download Google Home app to your smartphone.
2. For iPhone user, you can download from App Store or use this link, and Android user can download from Google Play or use this link.
3. Connect Google Home app to your Xiaomy TV Box.
4. Once connected, select your Xiaomi TV Box to open the remote control.
5. Slide to increase the volume sound.
6. It will turn on back the volume.

This fix is applicable for all Xiaomi TV Box. Moving forward, if there is no sound issue, just open the remote control in Google Home app and control the volume from there.
