My 10 favorite places to watch free movies online

·

If you’re not afford to subscribe to Netflix, Disney Hotstar or other premium services that I listed in this article, here’s the list of best places to watch free movies online (legally, of course).

Important: Avoid illegal streaming

There are many pirated movie websites that may contain malware, viruses, and intrusive ads. The platforms listed below are completely legal and safe.

Top 10 favorite places to watch free movies online

Let’s go!

1. Tubi TV

Tubi is like Netflix, but free! It has a solid collection of movies, TV shows, and even some hidden gems. The only catch? You’ll have to sit through a few ads, nothing crazy, though. Visit Tubi TV.

  • Big selection, including Hollywood hits.
  • No sign-up needed (but you can if you want).
  • Works on everything, phones, TVs, Firestick, you name it.

2. Crackle

Crackle is owned by Sony, so it has some decent movies and TV shows. The library isn’t huge, but there are some solid action and comedy films to check out. Visit Crackle.

  • Free with ads (like a YouTube playlist).
  • No sign-up required.
  • Available on your phone, laptop, and smart TV.

3. Pluto TV

Pluto TV is like cable TV but free. It has actual live channels, so you can flip through and find movies, news, or even reality TV. There’s also an on-demand section for when you just want to pick something to watch. Visit Pluto TV.

  • Feels like real TV, but doesn’t cost a dime.
  • Lots of random fun channels (even classic cartoons).
  • No account needed, just hit play.

4. YouTube Movies (Free Section)

YouTube has a bunch of free full-length movies that you can watch legally. Just search “free movies” and you’ll find some classics, action flicks, and comedies. Visit YouTube Movies.

  • You already use YouTube, so why not?
  • No downloads or sign-ups.
  • Just search and hit play—easy!

5. Popcornflix

Popcornflix has a mix of classic movies, indie films, and some B-movies (so if you like cheesy action flicks, this is for you). Visit PopcornFlix.

  • 100% free, no sign-up needed.
  • Great for indie and older movies.
  • Works on your phone, browser, and even gaming consoles.

6. Vudu (Free Section)

Vudu is normally a paid service, but it has a “Free with Ads” section where you can stream movies at no cost. Visit Vudu.

  • High-quality movies (even in HD).
  • Some newer releases pop up from time to time.
  • Just need an account, no subscription required.

7. Peacock TV (Free Tier)

Peacock is NBC’s streaming service, and they let you watch some movies and TV shows for free. If you like sitcoms, you’ll love this one! Visit Peacock TV.

  • Free NBC content (The Office, Parks & Rec, etc.).
  • Some newer movies show up here.
  • No credit card needed, just sign up.

8. The Roku Channel

Even if you don’t own a Roku, you can still watch their free movies and TV shows online. It’s kind of like a mix of Tubi and Pluto TV. Visit The Roku Channel.

  • Tons of classic and new movies.
  • Works on phones, laptops, and smart TVs.
  • No sign-up required.

9. Amazon Freevee (formerly IMDb TV)

This is Amazon’s free streaming service, hidden inside Prime Video. You don’t need a Prime subscription, just a regular Amazon account. Visit Amazon Freevee.

  • Good selection of movies (including Amazon Originals).
  • No credit card required.
  • Available on Amazon Firestick, mobile, and web browsers.

10. Kanopy

Kanopy is perfect if you love indie films, classic movies, or documentaries. It’s totally ad-free, but you’ll need a library card or university login to use it. Visit Kanopy.

  • No ads, just free movies.
  • Great for film buffs & students.
  • Works on all major streaming devices.

Final thoughts

If you just want random free movies, go for Tubi, Crackle, or Popcornflix. If you want live TV plus movies, Pluto TV is your best bet. For high-quality stuff, check out Vudu, Peacock, or Freevee. And if you’re a student or film lover, definitely try Kanopy.
