Learn how to root your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 on 5.0 Lollipop firmware. This rooting method is known as the safest root method which will be using the popular CF-Auto-Root by Chainfire.

It has been almost a year since I own my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 international variance when I learned to root it to use the best Note 3 custom ROM. If you want to learn to root your Samsung SM-N9005 device,  this post is for you.

Confirm your Note 3 model number

Before proceed with the root, make sure your Note 3 model is SM-N9005. To verify your device model number, go to “Settings” > “About phone” > “Model number”.

Enable USB debugging mode

Second, enable “USB Debugging Mode” on your phone. Go to “Settings” > “About phone”, tap on “Build Number” seven times until a message appears saying “You are now a Developer”. Enable “USB Debugging Mode” by navigating to “Settings” > “Developer Options”.

Battery level

And, make sure your device is charged to or more than 80% battery level to avoid power off due to lack of battery during rooting process. And don’t forget to create a backup as this tutorial might wipe out all data of the phone.

BTW, for pc installation just pay attention when installing this software there addtional software will be download if you not “Click here” to deselect it.

    Nice tutorial worked for me!

Note: “CF-Auto-Root for SM-N9005.zip” contains “Odin3-v3.10.6.exe” used that one and (also) works like charm.

Can someone help me?

    • Ged

Plus, my browsers are gone. 🙁 help

    • Ged

I can’t find any solution, so i tried my last resort which is factory reset. It’s working fine now but it was formatted lol

      • Hi, sorry for the late respond. So, have you re-try to root it?

        • Ged

No need to re-root, it’s rooted after i format it. Do you know the reason why my system apps keeps on crashing? maybe it would help other people when the experienced the same problem. By the way, thanks for your tutorial.

          • I’m not sure. Will gather more info regarding this.
            Thank you for the feedback.

  • My Name? Ben Dover

Hello, I want to root my note 3 but my question is, will it cause problems to my screen recognizing the s pen?

Because that’s what happened to my note 1 (shv-e160s) and I don’t want to happen again.

Will this work properly on my note 3? Baseband version is N9005DXUGBOK3. Please reply thank you. 🙂

    • Hello, it won’t affect your screen function.

      • My Name? Ben Dover

Thank you, I will try this method later 🙂
