Basically, there are two options to receive Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) on your television:

  • Using an old TV set: as long as it has an HDMI/AV input that can be connected to the MYTV decoder with Type DVB-T2 receiver or
  • Using a new TV set: (with the DTTV label approved by SIRIM) with integrated Digital Television (iDTV) that comes with a digital TV tuner. Read how to set up MYTV with built-in DTTV.

In this tutorial, I will focus on using an old TV set to access myFreeview and watch all the available channels. As of writing this article, myFreeview offers access to TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9, TV AlHijrah, TVi, and Bernama News Channel.
