Learn how to post animated GIF image on Facebook as your status update or a comment. This feature has been introduced for quite some time and already been used by a lot of Facebook user.

Basically, you can use any animated GIF image you found on any website. All you need to do is to find the URL to the image and put the link in your Facebook post.

Below is the simple step by step for you to follow:

How to post animated GIF image on Facebook

Step 1: Find any animated (.gif) image from any external websites.

  • For example Giphy, Imgur, Tumblr and etc.

Step 2: Right-click on the animated GIF image.

Step 3: Click on the option to copy the link to the image or save the image address.

  • Example of the link will be like this (note the .gif at the end of the file name):


Step 4: Paste the link into your Facebook “Update Status” box.

Step 5: Click “Post”.

Note: If your autoplay setting for Facebook video is set to “enable”, the GIF image will auto-play after you post. If it is set to “disable”, you can click on the picture (indicate by a white circle at the center of the picture) to play it.
